GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra is differentiated from other trucks with the motto "Professional Grade." "Professional Grade" in quality engineering, attention to detail, and going beyond "Good Enough," to be the best!

GMC Sierra has gone above and beyond in creating a truck that has more power, higher towing capacities, and the widest range of available options. The GMC Sierra has the quietest ride while providing better fuel economy and power.

GMC Sierra has an array of Engines to meet any need you may have. There is the base engine which is a 4.3 Liter V6 with 195 Horsepower and 260 lb-ft torque. This engine has a towing capacity of 5300 on the 2WD and 5100 on the 4WD. The next engine is a small V8-the 4.8 Liter. It delivers 295 Horsepower and 305 lb-ft torque. 7200 maximum towing on the 2WD and 7900 pounds on the 4WD. The next engine is probably the most popular-the 5.3 Liter V8 with Active Fuel Management. It delivers 315 Horsepower and 338 lb-ft torque. Max. Towing of 8200 pounds for the 2WD and 8900 pounds on the 4WD. Now there is another 5.3 Liter V8 with active fuel management that is an E85 or Ethanol burning engine. Then you will go up to the heavy duty engines like the 6.0 Liter that offers 367 Horsepower and 375 lb-ft torque. Towing max. of 10,200 pounds on 2WD and 10,500 pounds on 4WD. If this was not enough, you even have a Diesel Engine-Duramax with the Allison Transmission-will Tow a House Down! As you can see, there are many choices in Engines. There is an engine that will fit any need whether you are just driving around town or you need the power of a work horse.

ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT: A quick note in case you are not familiar with Active Fuel Management. This is an Engineering breakthrough for the GMC Sierra that boosts fuel economy by shutting down 4 cylinders when you are operating under light load conditions. Your Truck will operate on 4 cylinders, but when full power is needed, all cylinders are reactivated without you even knowing. You will most likely never feel the process taking place, but you will enjoy the increased fuel economy. Active Fuel Management is only available on 5.3 Liter and 6.0 Liter Engines.

E85: A quick note on E85. E85 or Flex fuel can operate on a blend of 85% Ethanol and 15% Gasoline. Ethanol is a renewable fuel made from bio material, like corn. If you notice at most all Gas Stations, it says "Contains 10% Ethanol." This is not the same fuel that we talk about when we talk about E85 Engines. It is the same fuel, but a true E85 Ethanol Engine can run on gas or 85% Ethanol. A regular engine is not equipped to run on this high a blend of Ethanol. Ethanol is usually cheaper than regular gas, but you will also get about 15% less fuel economy with ethanol.

There are numerous options on the GMC Sierra Truck, but I would like to mention one that is very important. That is the segment exclusive G80 Locking Rear Differential. The G80 on the GMC Sierra detects wheel spin and locks your rear wheels at speeds lower than 20 miles per hour. This sends power to both wheels so that the one with traction can pull the other one out. This is much better than limited slip differentials that is available on most of the competition.

The GMC Sierra truck is available in regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab. The extended cab has rear doors that open to 170 degrees for easy access to the back seat. The GMC Sierra has larger window openings and the rear windows on the extended cab roll down now.

GMC Sierra has Best in Class Aerodynamics. Tighter gap between cab and cargo box, taller cargo box with integral fender flares, easy lift tailgate with top caps, and tighter gap tolerance all around which gives the Sierra world class fit and finish.

If you have not looked at the GMC Sierra, you need to take a look at what the GMC has to offer. The GMC Sierra has more standard equipment than the competition and is a truck that fits any need you may have.
