Pontiac Solstice GXP 260 Horse Power Turbo
Just hitting showrooms in at a dealership near you is the new Pontiac Solstice GXP Turbo. The new model added to the already popular Solstice will come standard with a 260 HP 2.0 Liter Ecotec VOHC Variable Valve Timing 4 Cylinder Aluminum Engine with an impressive 260 FT Lbs of Torque.
The new Solstice GXP will come standard with a convenience package that will include Cruise, Fog Lamps, and a Driver Information Center. And, a preferred package which will include power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, body colored outside mirrors with power adjust. It also will be Rear wheel drive and come standard with an Aisin 5 speed manual transmission and standard stabilitrak. Other standard features include front and passenger air bags with a passenger sensing system. AM/FM with CD player, Floor mats--yes that is standard and that is unusual because many times is optional. Satin Nickel GXP sport appearance cluster with speedometer, fuel level, and tachometer gauges. There will be a power outlet. It will come standard with cloth bucket seats.
The premium package will be a $525 option that will get you leather seating, 3 spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, Steering wheel mounted audio, Driver Information controls, and cruise on the steering wheel. There will be optional radios with cd changers or an optional 7 speaker monsoon system. Also, XM and Onstar along with sport metalic pedals. Air conditioning is again optional along with a special acoustic headliner. There will be 2 optional 18 inch wheels and spoiler. There will also be other add ons such as tonneau cover, vehicle cover, front end cover, windscreen, and molded splash gaurds. Also, there is an option for automatic transmission, suspension options, and even an option for a luggage rack.
This covers the basics with the information we have been given and may change by the time the vehicle arrives. The base MSRP is around $26996 and has estimated mileage of 22 city and 31 highway.
I believe GM could have increased production on the model they had now before they started adding available GXP models to the mix. We received an average of 2 per month for the last 6 months and all were pre sold! If you try buying a used Solstice, you will pay more than what they sold for new so maybe GM knows what they are doing after all.
