Find The Free Auto Repair Manual You Need Online

Find the Free Auto Repair Manual You Need Online
By Terje Ellingsen

You can easily get a free auto repair manual for whichever repair need you might have. You need an internet access and have to follow a certain procedure searching for auto repair manuals, but when you have done this procedure a few times it will be very easy to find the right instructions for do it yourself auto repair and it wont cost you a dime.

There are four types of automotive description documents that you will need to choose from when you want to do a repair

General manuals

Diagnosis descriptions

Repair manuals

Maintenance manuals

General Manuals

In addition to some general manuals, most of these are related to the make. Here you can get step by step guidance on how to repair most of the makes in the vehicle market. Lets say you have a Honda Acura 2002 model and you want to find a manual for that make and model. What you do is perform the following search in a search engine:
free car manuals+Honda Acura+2002
. Then you will have a long list of sites that provide you with all kinds of descriptions for your Honda Acure 2002 model, and you can choose what you want.

Diagnosis descriptions

Automotive diagnosis manuals can also be sub divided by make and model. But it can also be divided by the area of the vehicle that is affected, for example engine intake problems, brake problems, cooling problems, exhaust problems, start or stall problems, transmission problems etc. Let's say you have a start problem. Your search would be
car diagnosis manual+ start problem
, then you should get more than enough repair information to choose from. You can even get diagnostic trees where all options are covered for nothing.

You have probably more than one time heard some annoying noise from somewhere in your vehicle, without finding the source of it. This is one of the most kinky situations to run into because you dont know if it is a serious signal or just a small thing. Some websites gives you the opportunity to diagnose vehicle problems by the noise, sound and vibrating signals and that is great. The sooner you find it the sooner you can fix it and then you can relax. When you search, you can describe the sound, for example
whine noise
or
shifter knocks
or "driveline vibration" plus car diagnosis manual plus eventually the make.

Repair Manuals

In addition to regular manuals you can also get very instructive and detailed descriptions in other internet document or websites like articles, etc. The natural way to sub divide such repairs before searching, is by the area of the vehicle that is going to be repaired, for instance body repair, exhaust repair, suspension fix, interior repair and even general car repair.

You do the search the same way as above; car repair manual (or description) + the area of repair and go through the list of resources you get.

Maintenance manuals

Though vehicle maintenance is closely related to your vehicle make and model, there are some maintenance issues that are pretty much common whether you have a Cadillac, VW or a Mercedes, for example changing oil, changing air filters, engine wash, fluid maintenance, tier maintenance etc. You can get access to maintenance descriptions by searching for the kind of maintenance plus
car maintenance manual (or description)
plus eventually your make and model.

I think youll be amazed of the amount of automotive repair free stuff online.

Volvo Recalls 360000 Cars For Speed Control Problem

Volvo Recalls 360,000 Cars for Speed-Control Problem
By Stacey Wilson

Volvo earlier released a statement that it is recalling approximately 360,000 cars due to a problem in speed-controls that can cause the vehicle to lose power without any warning. The automaker added that the defect in the electronic throttle module in Volvo cars manufactured between 1999 and 2002 could throw engines into the so-called limp home mode having about 15 miles per hour as the maximum speed.

Said recall, which is ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), applies to Volvo used parts found in the C70 and V70 models that are manufactured between 2001 and 2002. Other cars subject to recall are the S60 models manufactured between 2001 and 2002, and S70 and V70X models, which are manufactured between 1999 and 2000. Christer Gustafsson, spokesperson of the automaker said that Volvo has fixed the speed-control problem on about 165,000 vehicles of the recall total after sending out notices to owners in March.

The speed-control problem was first flagged by Californias Air Resource Board. After said problem was reported and investigated by the NHTSA, the latter ordered a mandatory recall early this month. Gustafsson added, Volvo owners who bring their cars to dealerships will have new software reinstalled for the throttle-control unit. We're already doing about 2,000 or 3,000 of these a week. In addition Gustafsson noted that limp home setting is the safety feature in Volvo cars. Said feature is designed to avoid unintended acceleration in case of a throttle malfunction.

Separately, the NHTSA also ordered recall of 128,000 DaimlerChrysler's Pacifica sport utility vehicles built between 2005 and 2006 due to software problem. Said software controls Chrysler car parts governing the fuel pump and powertrain control. According to NHTSA, the problem could cause the engine to stall in some cases. As part of the recall, the automaker will reprogram the powertrain controls and substitute the fuel pump on some Chrysler cars.

It can also be recalled that Toyota, a rival of GM, Ford and Chrysler, recalled 368,000 SUVs in July. The recall is all about the defective clip used in Toyota carpet. The defective carpet clip could hinder with brake usage and cause further road misfortunes.

Mythbuster Truck Fuel Effeciency Test

Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters, a popular Discovery Channel show, tested different configurations for trucks to get the best fuel effeciency.
They tested with the tailgate up and tailgate down, no tailgate, a hard top cover for the truck bed, and a mesh tailgate. They used a flow meter attached to the fuel pump to see which configuration gave a truck the best fuel economy.
The best fuel economy out of the mix was with a mesh tailgate cover. Probably due to the lighter weight received approximately 5 percent better fuel economy.
The worst out of all was with the tailgate down. So if you do not want to remove your tailgate to attach a mesh cover over the back, keep your Truck Tailgate closed. Thanks Mythbusters.

Car Safety Ratings: What Do They Mean?

Car Safety Ratings: What Do They Mean?
By Andrew Dillan

Every car commercial tells you that their car has a five-star safety rating. Does this score really mean anything? What tests are being performed and who does the measuring?

The Organizations

In the United States, there are two organizations that score cars on safety ratings, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The NHTSA is run by the Department of Transportation and is sometimes called the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) or the government five star rating.

Frontal Collision Ratings

The NHTSA gets its data by running a car directly into a wall at 35 mph. The IIHS does a different test, where the impact is offset, and not directly in the middle. The IIHS test does a better job of mimicking real-life accidents. While most cars do well in directly head-on collisions, most real-life collisions are offset.

The NHTSA scores with five stars. Five stars means that there is ten percent or less chance of injury. Injury is defined as something life-threatening or for which you will need immediate hospitalization. Four stars is between eleven and twenty percent chance of injury. Three stars is between twenty-one and thirty-five percent chance.

The IIHS score is not in a five star format. They rate a vehicle as Good, Acceptable, Marginal, or Poor.

The NHTSA and the IIHS scores should be looked at in conjunction with one another. Remember, both these scores only rate what would happen if you collide with another vehicle the same size as yours. However, many crashes involve only one-vehicle, so these tests are useful.

Side-Impact Ratings

Again, the NHTSA and IIHS uses different side-impact tests. The NTSA crashes a giant beam into the side of a car and measures the shock on two male-sized dummies. They then make a star rating based on the chance of chest injury to the dummies. Five stars means less than 5% chance of injury, four stars is 6%-10%, and 3 stars is 11%-20%. They dont gage the damage to the head in this star rating, but if they think that it is excessively dangerous, they will add a safety note to their report.

The IIHS uses dummies that represent adolescents or small-statured women. This helps assess the safety of people other than men in the car. They also use a larger beam. They score their rating based on injury to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and femur. This is arguably a more comprehensive test than the NHTSA test.

Rollover Ratings

The NHTSA is the only company that does Rollover ratings. Rollovers are often the most fatal type of accident. The NHTSA measures the chance of a car rolling with no external catalyst, and the chance of it happening for a reason (hitting a shallow ditch, hitting the curb, going onto the shoulder). 95% of rollovers are tripped, and have some external element.

Recent NHTSA testing has proven what we know about SUVs being much more likely to rollover than sedans or other cars.

Low-Impact Bumper Test

The IIHS performs a low-impact bumper test to see how much repairs would cost you if you gently hit something by accident. They rate the cars accordingly. Although this is not necessarily a safety rating, it will tell you what you can expect for possible repairs for your car and is something to keep in mind while purchasing a car.

When you shop
Considering the safety ratings of cars is important. But it is also important to know how these ratings are measured so that you can make the most informed decision about your purchase. Maybe you want your car to be cool, or to be functional, but most of all you want it to be safe.

Champ Car Going Where the Competition Isn’t?

Go where the competition isn’t. It’s an old business axiom that Champ Car is apparently following. It sounds self explanatory but let’s examine the business of Champ Car since the new regime has taken over and see just how closely they have followed this self imposed business tactic.

It appears that the five year plan that was developed shortly after the bankruptcy by-out has included the idea that the company should only do business where the competition isn’t, it only takes a moment to realize this must be the strategy.

As for the five year plan, it doesn’t end five years after it is developed, it continues on as long as needed, constantly being adjusted each year to meet the business needs as they change. It is simply a way to effect good business planning.

Let’s start with the management. In my opinion there is no substitute for a single strong leader in any business. Has CC established that? Hard to say what with the collage of actors seemingly involved in the business. I would score them low, although admittedly this may not really have much to do with Going Where the Competition Isn’t.

Venues, any overlaps there with the competition? No more Ovals on the schedule, new venues added some are ground breaking like Vegas, Phoenix and Houston. Score A

Schedule, hard not to have overlaps with NASCAR but it looks like there are only 4 conflicting dates with the IRL on next years schedule. Clearly the December 2 date for Phoenix next year has no competition in the US. Score B-

Chassis, any overlaps? Not that I can see, the new Panoz is purpose built for CC and is not being used by anyone else. But who knows what could happen later. Score B

Engines, nope, KK and GF took care of that long ago buy buying Cosworth. I believe that was a part of the original business plan. Score A

Support series, Atlantics is strong they have new engines and chassis both provided for by the new management. Same issue here with the chassis though. Score B.

A pet peeve of mine has been the reluctance to provide the fans with chance to give input through a survey. Surveys, when properly administered, can yield valuable information.

In the upcoming year, number four of the original five year plan it should be clear that operationally CC will be following the notion of Going Where the Competition Isn’t. And until they have built the business to a level that warrants expansion into competitive marketplaces this strategy is not likely to change.

Also in the upcoming year the new TV package with ABC/ESPN should be helpful in differentiating the series from others. With a full compliment of American racing on ABC/ESPN the casual racing fan will be able to easily recognize the “festival of speed” racing series, a series that clearly has gone where the competition isn’t.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD, Soon On The Streets

Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel
2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD, Soon On The Streets
By Sarah McBride

The Chrysler Group has just recently announced that it is already planning on producing the very first diesel powered and full sized sport utility vehicle. This new full sized SUV would be only sold and marketed in the United States. And guess what this SUV would be? Yes, it would be the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

This new 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee would be mounted with a 3.0 liter common rail turbo diesel, or CRD, engine. The company targets that in around the first quarter of next year, this new 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee would be found in Jeep dealerships around the country.

According to Craig Love, the vice president of Chrysler Groups Rear Wheel Drive Product team, Daimler Chrysler is a leader in automotive diesel applications in Europe, and it makes sense to continue to build on that experience by offering a modern, clean diesel for the US market. The Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel will offer consumers increased fuel economy, class-leading torque, towing, and driving range.Indeed, this could be a bestseller among those who would like to have an SUV which does not use up much gas.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been produced by the Chrysler Corporation since 1993 up until the present. It actually replaced the Jeep Grand Wagoneer in the Jeep line up of exemplary vehicles. It has been produced in one body style only which is the wagon with four doors. In the market, its competitors include the Ford Explorer, GMC Envoy, Toyota 4Runner, and Nissan Pathfinder.

On the new 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Bob Lee, the vice president of Chrysler Groups Power Train Product team, states, The 3.0 liter CRD is an efficient, smooth running, clean engine that delivers fuel economy and performance. Advanced diesel technology has improved over the last several years; engines are quieter and cleaner due to electronic controls, higher fuel pressures and advanced after-treatment systems.

With all the attention to details that Jeep gives to every vehicle under their brand, it is only fitting that Auto Parts Deal offer top of the line Jeep parts to match each Jeep vehicles performance.

Dynamic Simplicity Imbibed In New Nissan Altima

2007 Nissan Altima
Dynamic Simplicity Imbibed in New Altima
By Tom Bailey

Nissan has finally set forth a striking Altima with a revolutionary platform and evolutionary design that spell dynamic simplicity.

Altima is 100% original and 100% Nissan, rather than a copy of existing mid-size sedan offerings, said Brad Bradshaw, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. In creating this next generation Altima, we didnt take for granted the things it already did well. We refined or enhanced all areas, exterior, interior and under the skin.

The upcoming Altima will be equipped with improved parts Nissan including revised engine versions. This car model, which belongs to the fourth generation, will incorporate the VQ35DE 3.5 L V6 engine that produces 270 horsepower, and the QR25DE 2.5 L I4 that generates 175 horsepower.

Altima will also sport groundbreaking innovations like Push button start, advanced navigation system, advanced Xtronic CVT, parking camera and Bluetooth capability for cell phones. The redesigned version of the car appears to have several Toyota Camry parts. As a fact, Altimas wheelbase has close resemblance to that of Camrys.

We understand that mid size sedan buyers are looking for more from their vehicles than transportation, they seek a higher sense of self reward, along with a quality feel, enhanced comfort and a wide range of convenience features, added Bradshaw. The new 2007 Altima builds on these strengths, protecting Altimas hard fought standing as the sedan of choice for discerning, enthusiast buyers. And now, as a true competitor rather than just an alternative, we predict Altima will find an even wider audience.

Bradshaw concluded, The new 2007 Altima is one of the first vehicles in class to offer such a high level of features, such as the available Intelligent Key and RearView Monitor, touch-screen navigation with voice recognition and dual zone automatic temperature control. With distinctive styling, dynamic performance, high quality roomy interior and great features, the new Altima raises the standard in the segment once again. In a sea of sameness, Altima engages the senses and stirs the soul.

The new Altima exudes an entirely unique, distinctive and exotic car appeal design and quality wise. As Bradshaw put it, Its quiet, comfortable and rewarding.

How To Do Car Window Tinting

Car Window Tinting
How to Do Window Tinting
By Lance Winslow

Window Tinting BMPs Best Management Practices and Procedures. Every auto detailer who lives in works south of the Mason Dixon line or in a large metro area has asked themselves; should I offer window tinting to my customers? Every wholesale auto detailer in such states in areas has probably been asked by their customers, namely new car dealerships and small used car dealerships, do you know anybody who does window tinting? That simple question spins around your mind like a thought you can control, hey, maybe I should you window tinting, what can I charge, how do you do it? Is it difficult?

Many auto detailers and professional car care specialists or even those that call themselves mobile car washers and detailers have considered such a tact. Some have found that they did not have proper training, that was not as easy as it looked in that they had made a grave mistake. While others seem to have a knack for tinting windows tinting windows is as much an art as a science you have to mistake and a careful I and patience, just the thing for a detailer, well at least a professional one, someone who is into the details. Here are some tips and ideas that may help you decide if you want to go get some professional training, and start offering such services. There are some relatively basic steps that does the profession must follow. It is not easy, but in theory it is simple. First you must prepare the surface of the window, the window must be perfectly clean with not even the finest speck of dust. It saves a lot of time if you have proper tools for window tinting, for instance some hard-cards, a heat gun and some in razor blades.

It is also nice to have a tiny squeegee. Youll see seasoned professionals who also carry around paper towels and dishes soap. You also need to look out for the things like automotive caulking compounds and weather stripping sticking out, these can make for it to install, any need to take care these things upfront. Also, make sure there are no cellular phone or satellite radio antenna components on the inside the window. If there are you're going to the work around us any need to put extra liquid around us area so you can move the tent around to get in the right spot before you start cutting up the shape of the razor blade.

We have often seen old antenna mounts or leftover glue on the windows that we didnt see due to the lighting or shading when we first started, and there you are with a soapy film mass with one hand it is a razor blade to scrape of the other hand, all the while knowing that you dont do everything right, he could easily fold over the window tent and have to start completely over any just by yourself extra material. This is why you should pay extra attention to every square into the surface of the interior of the window before attempting this procedure. Once this is completed while the window film is still dry, you need to cut the film to the basic shape of the window. The easiest way to do this is to lay on the outside of the window and cut into the basic shape in a nylon paper, but leave yourself a little extra room. Then take the nylon paper and slightly moisten the window to the desired amount and lay the paper against the inside of the window and then smooth out the paper working from the center outward in all directions. As you get towards the edges make a few cuts along the edge. Cut the paper to the exact shape and then lay it on top of the film w/liner.

Trace around the outside of the paper on top after you tape down four edges and are sure it is perfectly flat. If you have and areas where you have to go around like the mirrors you have already cut the opening in the paper and will trace that opening on to the film and peel sheet. Once you have the perfect shape you are ready to go and install the tint. Now place this on the window in the right place after you have put some soapy water on the inside of the window, pull back the first 1/3 of the peel sheet and spray the window tint showing with adhesive window solution. It best if you never touch the window film itself during this process. Makes sure the edges are lined up on all sides. Slowly peel and spray adhesive and work any air bubbles out you want to leave about one-eight inch from the top of the window and work downwards. By using the squeegee you need to slowly work downward all the to the bottom and out to the sides, it is okay to let the solution move down with your squeegee, it is better to use a little extra solution than not enough. Once everything is correct use the plastic hard tool too bring down the solution and any soapy water and then pat and buff the moisture left.

To keep the plastic tool from ripping often it is advised to use a paper towel wrapped around it. This is what we have seen most operators do who are seasoned and experienced. One recent problem we have seen in the last few years is those windows with safety glass, which have a dot pattern on the edges. This makes things a little tougher.

You want to use more adhesive on the edges otherwise it will try to peel up. So use more solution as you are working outward and try to work upward on the initial point of contact, some of this extra solution will roll down, but that is okay you need a tight seam at the top. Another issue is to advise your clients of the law in your state if one exists for window tinting.

Many states outlaw black out tinting commonly referred to a Limo tinting, some allow SUVs to have tint like this but not cars, some states SUVs can have it in the back, but not in the front. There are so many laws you need to know what your state says and also and if you live near a border to another state, well? Best to know those laws too. In some stats the operator is responsible, other states the vehicle owner and in some states the installer also. Great more laws, yep. Get use to it you are in an over regulated industry.

General Motors November Red Tag Sales Event

GENERAL MOTORS RED TAG SALES EVENT Its that time of year again when General Motors is offering select vehicles in the Red Tags Sales Event. GM owners are allowed to pick a certain number of vehicles to discount based on new car sales for the year. Most dealers are offering these red tag savings on all leftover 2006 models. It is a pretty hefty discount on most. For Instance, a GMC Yukon that lists for $35000 is now $27000. This is a nice discount on a new vehicle. After some of these vehicles sell, owners can then allocate more savings to other new vehicles. So go to your local GM dealer to see if your model is Red Tagged! If not, let a few of these red tagged vehicles sell and ask the dealership to allocate the savings to the vehicle of your choice. It could save you thousands of dollars so worth checking out.

Is This A Good Time To Buy A New Car?

This is a question that comes up quite often. Is this a good time to buy a new car? When I say new car, I do not necessarily mean a brand new car, but a new car to you, whether it is new or used.

I think you can look at the market and tell when it is a good time to buy a car. Typically, November thru January are slower months for the auto industry as a whole. So dealers and salesman will bend over backwards to make a deal during these times. When spring rolls around and there is an abundance of customers, salesmen will drop a customer or shortcut the process to get to the next deal that may be easier. It is the nature of the business. Many will disagree and say each customer is important during any selling season, but trust me, on a cold November day at 6:00 in the evening with no cars sold for the day, Managers will go out of their way to make a deal. Owners believe every day should be a good day and look crazy at managers that are not giving them results.

Most dealerships have some type of board where each sell for the day is logged. Take a trip to the dealership, find this board and see how many sells have been made on this perticular day. If there are few sales on this board, you have the bargaining wand in your hand. Make a crazy offer, when they say they have to pass on the deal, head to your car to leave. You will find out real quick the least they will take for the car you have chosen. They will beat you to your car with this offer. Novemeber, December, and January are prime months to get a GREAT deal! Dealers are also frantic to get rid of old age units. When I say Old Age, I mean left over 2006 models when 2007s are filling the lots. Pick out one of these leftover 2006 models for your best deal. If these vehicles are not sold by the end of the year, the manufacturer will give a one time credit to the vehicle and all rebates and incentives will be gone. Most dealers do not want to carry this inventory into the next fiscal year.

So go out now and see how good the deal gets. You will probably be surprised how anxious salesmen are to brave the cold to assist you in any way imaginable. Good Luck and happy buying!

It's Finally Over, Bourdais Wins Mexico City

Bourdais eeked out a win yesterday in Mexco City with a last lap pass of Wilson ( avoidable contact be damned) to end the long (short schedule) Champ Car series season!

Come back soon to read about my thoughts on this season and next season - which is scheduled for an even later calendar finish than this year. I'll be putting forth some yet to be suggested reasons for the way Champ Car is being run and don't miss my rant on avoidable contact - whatever the hell that is!

Maximizing Your Car Insurance Settlement

Maximizing Your Insurance Settlement
By Craig Perry

I have been a Las Vegas Auto Accident Attorney for 17 years. I worked for insurance companies before I switched to handling personal injury cases for the injured parties. After so many years of being in this business, I can tell you from my experience how to get the most from the insurance company.

If you follow these steps, you will no longer have to ask, How do I settle my accident claim? You will have a much better idea of the things you can do. With all of these steps, I still strongly advise you to consult with an experienced accident attorney who can give you sound advice and help you settle your claim.

Action: Secure all available evidence from the accident scene.
Reason: There are three basic parts to a personal injury case: (a) liability, (b) injuries and (c) available money. First, you have to prove the other guy is at fault. So you have to preserve all of the evidence you can. That includes not moving the cars and talking to the police to arrive, taking down their insurance information and license plate and name & address, obtaining witness statements, and photographing the scene. Do not do any car repairs until it is examined by an adjust

Action
: Never say you are not injured at the scene of the accident. At most, say you do not know yet.
Reasons: If you say you are not injured, most soft tissue injury pains take a few hours or days to develop. If you say you were not injured, the adjuster or defense attorney will try to allege that maybe you were lying just to get a settlement.

Action: Go to the doctor right away, even if you are not feeling pain.
Reasons: Many people are in shock right after an accident. Some people sustain broken bones in an accident without even knowing it. X-rays can reveal many types of injuries even before you feel pain, such as change in spinal curvature suggesting a possible muscle spasms even before the pain begins. Secondly, insurance companies will question your injuries, no matter how legitimate, if you do not see a doctor right away. I have seen cases lose in court where the injured party waited three or four weeks before seeing a doctor.

Two things happen when you delay care. First, the insurance company will question you were ever hurt. From your point of view, you simply thought the pain would go away. From their point of view, you were not even in enough pain to go to a doctor, or maybe you decided to milk the insurance company for money. You avoid such false arguments by seeing someone right away.

Action: Do not miss or skip medical appointments. Follow through with all recommended care.
Reason: Missed appointments will allow the insurance company to argue that you must not have been in much pain if you though that you could miss appointments.

Action: Document all of your lost wages with a doctors note for every day missed.
Reason: Insurance companies have a standard policy of not paying for days off from work disability unless (a) you actually missed a work and (b) there is a note from your doctor stating that you are not able to work.

Action: When negotiating your case, start high.
Reason: If you approach an insurance company with the lowest amount you will take, they will never offer more than you ask and they almost always offer you less than you are asking. Give yourself room to negotiate down. They start low, so you should start high.

Pickup Spot: Expensive gas, now James Inhofe and Korea - are Trucks screwed?

First, a bit of poli-sci background. James Inhofe was, until just after the mid-terms, chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Because he doesn't beleive in global warming, American drivers have cheerfully been left alone when it came to cutting down on ice cap-melting V8s. And that was pretty good...for us, not the ice caps. Screw those.

Now, James, who compared Al Gore's whale hugging, tree kissing, flick to Hitler's Mein Kompf, is gone. And a democrat is taking his place. Good for the environment, bad for big, fat, fun trucks. Are trucks in trouble? Will we still be able to highlight the quality with which we f*ck using the immense size of our truck? We'll see.

In the meantime, here's the latest in truckdom:

We've been looking forward to the H3T - based on the concept GM showed off like three years ago, before the H3 was even out (left). Now, it looks like we're getting closer to production. And the pictures just posted on AutoBlog (below) made our mouths fill with vomit, as dHummer H3T concept truckreams of our new Hummer H3T pickup fizzled away. Might as well just get a Ranger.

Jeep, meanwhile, also gave up its concept truck ambitions and settled for a bit of welding to chop down the Wrangler into a Wrangler with a pickup bed. Again, the concept - cool. The actual truck we'll be seeing soon? Well, you have to really like the front end of Wranglers (as I do) to give a crap. We've got high hopes for the extended cab. There's no room for stuff behind the seats in this one Plus, let's home a real-Jeep-style soft top is coming too. The convertible Dakotas are getting pretty old, we need a convertible truck! (SSR is not a truck)

Finally, check out what the Koreans are threatening us with now. No, it's not a brilliant white light being the last thing we all see before being vaporised. That's a different Korea. South Korea just plan to nuke America's truck industry. As opposed to Jeep and Hummer, this is the real demilitirized zone right here:

Instead of playing soldier, the concept sketches from Kia and Hyundai look like Titan-style pickups where you sit on leather watching big screens not playing G.I.Joe in a truck based on another truck based on a civilian version of an army truck.

2007 Acura RDX
Acura buying tips for 2007 by Allweb

Acura is one of the hottest selling car brands in the USA and many other countries. Although the competition on the car market is fierce, Hondas luxury division has managed to seize an important segment of the auto industry, so its 2007 models are expected to take the quality even further. Here are a few tips for buying an Acura in 2007, together with a look at their future and current vehicle offer.

Acura RDX (2007)
Priced at $32,995, the 2007 Acura RDX is a medium sized SUV that is slightly smaller than the MDX. The main competitors for the RDX are X3 from BMW and the M Klass Mercedes, together with other mid-sized SUVs. The RDX seems to be a very good choice for a family car that also offers luxury and a bit of sportive feel.

Acura MDX (2007)
The impressive sales of the MDX are expected to rise even further in 2007. Coming from Hondas luxury division, the car-based seven-passenger MDX will most likely have shoppers face waiting lists. The 2007 Acura MDX has some other impressive advantages, more power and improved stability on any terrain with Acuras All-Wheel Drive system.

Acura RL (2007)
The 2007 model shifts some of the equipment that was previously considered standard to the options list, in an attempt to lower the overall base price of the RL. You will still get optional choices such as the rearview camera system or the traffic monitoring system.

Acura TL (2007)
The 2007 model receives a 3.5-liter V-6 with 286 horsepower in its Type S performance edition. Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is still not included with this model.

Acura TSX (2007)
Very similar to the European version (Honda Accord), the 2007 Acura TSX is a blend between the RSX and the TL performance sedan. Not a lot of changes accompany the 2007 TSX, but this is partly because there were no complaints with the earlier models.

Current vehicle offers from Acura:
Acura MDX (2006)
With a price of $37,125 the 2006 MDX offers everything you might be looking for as far as luxury, safety and performance are concerned in an SUV. The 2006 MDX comes with the popular 4 wheel traction system that Acura fits on all its MDX models, plus the added bonus of XM Satellite radio.

Acura RL (2006)
Launched in 2005, the RL model from Acura has done well in the luxury sedan market. Priced between $48,565 and $53,100, depending on options and engine, the Acura RL comes with all-wheel drive and a well built real-time traffic monitoring system. Other improvements added to the 2006 Acura RL are the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and ACS (Adaptive Cruise Control).

Acura RSX (2006)
Priced between $20,325 and $23,845 addresses a much wider target audience thatn the exotic NSX. The base RSX comes with 155-horsepower and the performance Type-S has an additional 46 bhp.

Acura TSX (2006)
The small sport sedan priced at $27,890 is the next step from the RSX sport coupe. The 2006 model comes with changes in the optional equipment and a stylish facelift.

And, a preferred package which will include power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, body colored outside mirrors with power adjust. It also will be Rear wheel drive and come standard with an Aisin 5 speed manual transmission and standard stabilitrak. Other standard features include front and passenger air bags with a passenger sensing system. AM/FM with CD player, Floor mats--yes that is standard and that is unusual because many times is optional. Satin Nickel GXP sport appearance cluster with speedometer, fuel level, and tachometer gauges. There will be a power outlet. It will come standard with cloth bucket seats.

The premium package will be a $525 option that will get you leather seating, 3 spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, Steering wheel mounted audio, Driver Information controls, and cruise on the steering wheel. Air conditioning is again optional along with a special acoustic headliner. There will be 2 optional 18 inch wheels and spoiler. There will also be other add ons such as tonneau cover, vehicle cover, front end cover, windscreen, and molded splash gaurds. Also, there is an option for automatic transmission, suspension options, and even an option for a luggage rack.

This covers the basics with the information we have been given and may change by the time the vehicle arrives. The base MSRP is around $26996 and has estimated mileage of 22 city and 31 highway.

I believe GM could have increased production on the model they had now before they started adding available GXP models to the mix. We received an average of 2 per month for the last 6 months and all were pre sold! If you try buying a used Solstice, you will pay more than what they sold for new so maybe GM knows what they are doing after all.
